Every summer I gravitate toward a certain color, and I obsess about said color for months until it’s acceptable to wear my regular uniform of black and grey again (my favorite color combination!) Two years ago, my summer color was orange. Last year, it was tan and white (boring, I know). This year, I’m crazy for teal/mint/blue (or any combination of the three). It’s so beachy and bright when paired with a crisp white. It’s also everywhere in the stores right now and I’m happily basking in the glow of the caribbean-inspired color trend.
Here are a few of my favorite summer things.
1. Aqua Serving Tray
I just ordered this aqua serving tray from Amazon to brighten up cocktail hour on the patio. Serving drinks is going to be so convenient this summer. The tray has a rubber grip, so your Gin and Tonics won’t be splishing and splashing. Bottoms up!
2. Teal Tanks
Go to Old Navy right now and bring your oversized reusable shopping bag! (I may have watched too many Amy Poehler commercials!) But seriously, I got this ice-blue cami for $4 and this teal tank for $6 on sale (and a bunch more in other colors!) They are perfect for layering under sheer shirts for work and under other tanks for the weekend. I love pairing mine with a crisp white.
3. Mint & Turquoise Chunky Necklaces
Can you say “statement piece!” Bold mint and turquoise necklaces put me on island time. The bigger, the better. They are a must for summer vacations. My mom got me this one from Beall’s in Florida, and it’s easily one of my all-time favorites. Once again, pair it with a white tank or tee, and you’re instantly transported to an island getaway.
4. Caribbean Candles
Your beach cottage awaits. Pier 1 has an adorable collection of candles called “Enchanted Paradise” that will bring a sliver of Key West into your home, wherever home is.
5. Teal Flats
Aren’t these shoes gorgeous? I spotted them instantly (from four aisles away) at DSW.
6. Minty Toes
We have the shoes taken care of, now how about the toes. The perfect polish is tying my summer color scheme together. This is Sea Spray from China Glaze. I might not be able to dip my toes in an ocean oasis, but this is the next best thing.
