Leftover tortillas after Taco Night? Don’t throw them away! This is a simple and easy way to make your own tortilla chips. I recently found a bag of flour tortillas that we’d forgotten about in the fridge. Instead of shelling out more grocery money on a bag of chips for a Chicken Tortilla Soup… I made my own! It took about ten minutes and they added the perfect amount of crunch to my soup.
1. Set oven to 400 degrees.
2. Brush your Tortilla front and back with oil. Coat one side with generous pinches of sea salt.
3. Cut the Tortilla in half, then cut each half in thin 1/2 inch strips. If you’d prefer larger chips, cut each half in Triangle sections.
Line your baking sheet with the Tortilla strips.
Bake strips for 5 minutes, flip the strips and bake another 5 minutes until partially golden brown (you don’t want them to burn, but you want them nice and crispy!)
Repeat for as many chips as you want.
And you’re done!
