Pho

Ok, I caved! You can’t make ’em all! I warned you that eating out is my weakness and I completely gave in to temptation today. I chalk it up to being on vacation, but truly, whenever I’m craving asian food it’s nearly impossible to resist the beckoning of all the great restaurants around the Pacific Northwest. Let’s just say: they know how it’s done! I discovered the Vietnamese dish Pho shortly after we moved here. There’s a cute little Pho restaurant in Northgate Joe and I stumbled upon and we’ve been going back ever since. I’m not sure if it’s “the best” in the area, but it keeps us coming back. (Elizabeth, if this place is butchering Pho they totally have me fooled!)

If you’re not familiar, Pho is a broth-based noodle dish with sliced beef (or other meats) and tons of bean sprouts, scallions, fresh herbs and limes. It’s a treat for the nose as much as a treat for the taste buds. It is so fragrant, the aroma will smack you in the face (in a good way!).

If you’re up for an adventure and have never eaten Vietnamese food before, I strongly recommend it!

Kitchen, you and I will meet again soon – but in this battle of the burners, the restaurant won!
